Rooted

Coiling the roots around us to heal the hurts

I breathe in the horror of young girls drowning in high waters, playing at church camp

I breathe out some hidden purpose to their early leaving

I breathe in the masked men stealing freedom from innocent human beings

I breathe out the old idea that we are somehow separate from each other 

I breathe in world view differences dividing us by design

I breathe out a massive wave of mother energy, of loving kindness

I breathe in the pain in the eyes of the brown skinned mother afraid for her children

I breathe out the higher consciousness that surely must be coming 

I breathe in disagreement, disillusionment and despair

I breathe out, every ounce of breath releasing me from everything but love.

I am worlding the world where everything is sacred and nothing is certain

I live in the moment as even the excruciating ones are all I ever have

Connecting with nature, 

Great Mother comforts through natural, ancient rhythms

She is angry now

I am angry too 

and yet

The trees, deep rooted, bending with the storms

Tell me to breathe the air they make

Be here, now, they whisper

Do what you can do in the name of love

Live like the first people

Circling one another with compassionate care

Singing soul songs of ancestral healing

Write poetry and make art

Make soup that springs from our  deepest roots

Coiling around the hurts

Embrace the storm for what comes after

Worlding the broken world with certainty

That one day all shall be well.
